DrayTek heeft de Vigor 1000 serie speciaal voor de aanleg van nieuwe glasvezellijnen ontwikkeld. De Vigor 1000 serie beschikt over 4 Gigabit LAN poorten, 2 telefoniepoorten voor VoIP toepassingen (V model) en een 802.11n wireless access point (n model) met externe antennes. De Vigor 1000 serie is uitgerust met IPv4 en IPv6 dual stack en een uitgebreide firewall. Daarnaast beschikt het over de mogelijkheid voor 2 simultane VPN IPSec verbindingen.
Door de implementatie van 2 USB poorten kunnen zowel een printer als een USB opslag medium aangesloten worden. De USB poort kan eveneens worden gebruikt voor 3,5G UMTS/HSDPA modems, die als fail-over op de glasvezel kunnen worden toegepast. Speciaal voor de Apple gebruikers heeft DrayTek een iTunes server toegevoegd.
De Vigor 1000 serie ondersteunt eveneens het TR-069 protocol waardoor auto provisioning en back-up eenvoudig wordt. Voor digitale televisie kunnen op basis van VLAN\’s LAN poorten worden gebridged richting de settop box.
